About this role

Nexamp's Site Origination team is building the solar and storage pipeline that powers the clean energy transition, and this Business Development Representative role is central to that work. You'll identify and secure viable project sites across target markets, conducting due diligence on zoning, environmental, and regulatory factors while building relationships with landowners and commercial stakeholders. The work combines sales discipline with technical evaluation—you'll need to qualify opportunities using GIS resources and interconnection analysis, then negotiate and execute lease agreements that move projects forward to the Development team.

This role suits someone with 2+ years of sales experience who's comfortable with high-volume outbound work and closing deals. You'll need a driver's license, travel capability, and proficiency in standard business tools. Beyond the mechanics, Nexamp is looking for someone who can think analytically about problems, take ownership of process improvements, and genuinely connect with the company's climate mission. The hybrid setup from either Boston or Chicago offers flexibility, and the compensation package includes base salary of $74,000–$92,000, performance incentives, stock options, health benefits from day one, and commuter support.
