About this role
Salt XC is seeking a Vice President of Media to lead the strategic vision and operational performance of its media practice across North America. This is a leadership role that sits at the intersection of strategy, client delivery, and business growth—you'd be responsible for setting agency-wide standards for media planning, investment management, measurement, and technology while guiding Managing Directors and senior teams toward measurable client outcomes. The position demands someone who can think systemically about how media evolves alongside consumer behavior and platform ecosystems, while also making decisive calls on partnerships, technology investments, and resource allocation.
The role spans five core areas: establishing media strategy and thought leadership; overseeing media buying, investment governance, and relationships with major media owners; building measurement and analytics capabilities that demonstrate ROI; evaluating and adopting emerging technologies and AI applications; and owning the financial performance and growth strategy of the entire Media practice. You'd be balancing long-term vision with operational execution—defining frameworks and best practices that scale across the agency while staying close enough to high-value client work and negotiations to maintain credibility and market influence.
This opportunity suits someone with substantial financial institution marketing experience who has led media teams or disciplines at scale, understands media investment philosophy and governance, and can operate comfortably in both strategic planning and hands-on problem-solving. The hybrid Toronto base, $170K–$220K salary range, and full-time structure suggest a stable, senior role. Salt's stated values around collaboration and humility suggest they're looking for leadership that builds capability rather than simply directs it.
