About this role

The MJ Companies is looking for a Business Development professional to build and manage a sales pipeline across their employee benefits, retirement, and risk management service lines. You'd own the full cycle from identifying prospects through RFP responses and finalist presentations, while coordinating internal teams—from compliance and data analytics specialists to communications experts—to craft tailored solutions. The role demands strong relationship-building skills and the ability to position MJ's value proposition strategically throughout the sales process.

Beyond closing deals, you'd manage the handoff to service teams, keep clients engaged through events and updates, and represent the company at industry forums and networking opportunities. Success here requires sales discipline (managing pipeline data in Salesforce or HubSpot), excellent communication skills, and the ability to orchestrate complex pursuits involving multiple internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate has a track record of mid-market consulting or advisory sales, genuine networking ability, and the drive to exceed revenue targets while showcasing the broader expertise of the MJ team.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Phoenix with a salary range of $150,000–$185,000, plus sales incentive compensation and benefits including 401k contributions.
