Description

About Vercel:

Vercel is the agentic infrastructure company, freeing people and agents to ship what's next. For more than a decade we've helped builders move from idea to production with speed, security, and exceptional developer experience.

Now we're scaling our products for both agents and people to ship and run software, built in the open and trusted by OpenAI, PayPal, Ramp, Supreme, and millions of developers worldwide.

About the Role:

As a Product Manager, Storage on the Vercel cloud product team, you’ll own the Storage product portfolio where applications and agents keep their data on Vercel. That covers Blob for blob storage, Drives for persistent filesystems, and future database and key value storage products. This is a hybrid role based in San Francisco, in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

What You Will Do:

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Vercel’s storage portfolio, using usage, performance, and reliability data to decide what to build next and what to stop doing
  • Partner with Engineering, Design, and DX to integrate storage products with the rest of Vercel’s cloud (Functions, backend services, Sandboxes, Daemons) and ship primitives that other Vercel product teams build on
  • Set and hold the bar for performance, availability, and durability across the portfolio, and make the call when those goals trade off against speed or cost
  • Shape pricing and packaging for storage so it scales with customers from hobbyist to large Enterprise
  • Work directly with Enterprise customers and the field to unblock adoption where scale, compliance, data locality, or encryption requirements get in the way

About You:

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including shipping storage, database, or data infrastructure products (object storage, relational databases, or key-value stores)
  • Technical depth in the tradeoffs between storage solutions, and have explained them clearly to engineers and customers
  • Owned multiple connected product areas and set direction that other product teams built against
  • Worked directly with Enterprise customers on data and storage requirements and turned them into roadmap decisions

Bonus If You:

  • Have worked at a cloud provider or data storage provider
  • Have an engineering background or have built software yourself
  • Have worked with compliance and security requirements in enterprise procurement

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Inclusive Healthcare Package.
  • Learn and Grow - we provide mentorship and send you to events that help you build your network and skills.
  • Flexible Time Off.
  • We will provide you the gear you need to do your role, and a WFH budget for you to outfit your space as needed.

The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $208,000 - $312,000. Actual salary will be based on job-related skills, experience, and location. Compensation outside of San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package may include benefits, equity-based compensation, and eligibility for a company bonus or variable pay program depending on the role. About this role

Vercel is seeking a Product Manager to own its Storage portfolio—Blob, Drives, and upcoming database and key-value products—as the company expands its infrastructure for both developers and AI agents. You'll set the multi-year vision and strategy for these interconnected storage solutions, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with Vercel's broader cloud platform while maintaining rigorous standards for performance, availability, and durability. This means making deliberate tradeoffs between speed, cost, and reliability, shaping pricing models that work across customer segments from hobbyist to Enterprise, and working directly with customers and field teams to unblock adoption at scale.

The role demands hands-on product leadership: you'll partner closely with Engineering, Design, and other Vercel product teams to ship storage primitives others build on, use data to prioritize what comes next, and translate Enterprise requirements around compliance, data locality, and encryption into roadmap decisions. You should have shipped storage or data infrastructure products before—object storage, databases, or key-value stores—and be able to articulate the technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and customers. Prior experience at a cloud or data storage provider, an engineering background, or familiarity with enterprise procurement and security requirements would strengthen your candidacy.

Based in the US with hybrid flexibility: if you're within commuting distance of San Francisco, New York, London, or Berlin, expect anchor days Monday, Tuesday, and Friday in office; otherwise, the role is fully remote. Compensation ranges from $208,000 to $312,000 in San Francisco, adjusted for location, plus equity, healthcare, flexible time off, and professional development support.
