About this role

Leading client services at a specialized agency requires both strategic vision and hands-on relationship management. At Underscore Marketing, the Vice President role centers on stewarding a portfolio of high-value accounts while building the internal teams and cross-functional partnerships that make delivery possible. You'd be responsible for driving profitable growth through account expansion and retention, serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, and translating their evolving needs into actionable strategy. The position demands someone with 12–15 years of agency experience and at least 8 years leading teams—someone who can negotiate at the C-suite level, forecast revenue accurately, and coach account managers toward excellence.

Success here means balancing three interconnected priorities: deepening client relationships and expanding account value, developing and scaling a high-performing team, and ensuring seamless collaboration across media, strategy, and operations functions. You'll participate in new business efforts, identify process improvements, and champion a customer-centric culture throughout the organization. The role is fully remote but includes travel as client relationships require.

Underscore is a woman-owned, independent agency focused on life sciences marketing since 2002. Experience in media and life sciences is preferred, though what matters most is a proven track record managing complex accounts, driving revenue growth, and building strong client partnerships. The agency emphasizes collaboration, integrity, and measurable results—and invests in competitive compensation, benefits, and professional development for its team.
