About this role
Sabates Eye Center is recruiting a fellowship-trained cornea surgeon to build a high-volume surgical practice anchored by an established patient base and strong regional referral network. The role balances clinical and surgical work—spanning cornea, anterior segment, and cataract cases—with a meaningful academic partnership through UMKC, where you would teach and mentor ophthalmology residents. You'd join a collaborative, multi-specialty team supported by modern facilities and experienced clinical staff.
This position suits someone seeking both surgical volume and teaching opportunity without the demands of a full academic appointment. The practice offers competitive compensation with production incentives, sign-on and relocation support, CME allowance, and a clear pathway to long-term leadership and partnership. Kansas City provides an affordable cost of living and strong quality of life, making this an option for physicians wanting to practice in a growing market without major metropolitan pressures.
