What You’ll Get to Do
The 2nd shift Maintenance Technician is focused on repairs of components and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Job responsibilities include:
- Conduct repairs and replacements of faulty components to ensure continuous production processes.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues, implementing timely and effective solutions.
- Repair and replace faulty components and equipment
- Assist in the installation of new machinery and equipment as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment according to established schedules.
What We Are Looking For
- Electrical and mechanical plant maintenance including the repair and installation of machinery and equipment as assigned and directed by supervisor
- Troubleshoot to determine appropriate repairs including the replacement of defective parts
- Assemble, install, test, and inspect machines and equipment as needed
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Assist in upgrading equipment including fabrication of parts

About this role
Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope operates manufacturing facilities across North America, and this 2nd shift Maintenance Technician role in Houston supports the production operations that supply architectural glass and building products to major projects nationwide. You'd report to the Maintenance Manager and take ownership of keeping equipment running smoothly—diagnosing mechanical problems, repairing or replacing faulty components, and performing preventive maintenance on production systems.
The role calls for hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical plant maintenance, with particular value placed on PLC troubleshooting skills. You'd also assist with machinery installation and equipment upgrades, including fabricating parts as needed. This is a position suited to someone organized and adaptable who can work independently on the 2nd shift and contribute to a maintenance team supporting continuous production.
