About this role

Latitude AI, a Ford subsidiary developing autonomous driving technology, is seeking a Mission Operator to support its fleet testing operations in Greenville, South Carolina. This is a contract position based in-office that involves driving test vehicles on local missions up to 300–400 miles and extended travel assignments covering up to 50% of your time, including multi-day trips across the U.S. You'll work rotating schedules, performing vehicle startup and shutdown procedures, monitoring software and hardware systems in real time, troubleshooting issues as they arise, and documenting detailed performance reports. Close collaboration with engineering teams means your observations and feedback directly inform software improvements and system refinement.

The role demands a valid driver's license, a clean Motor Vehicle Record, and the ability to pass drug screening and background checks. You'll need at least a high school diploma and two years of work experience; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. Beyond the driving itself, success here requires technical competency—comfort with computers, web-based applications, and basic troubleshooting—plus the discipline to follow strict safety and compliance protocols. You should be reliable, adaptable to new technologies, and capable of working independently or with minimal oversight during long hours on the road.

Prior experience in technical driving, fleet operations, or vehicle testing is a plus, as is familiarity with vehicle diagnostics tools or work management platforms like Jira and Slack. This role suits someone genuinely interested in autonomous vehicle development who can combine precision and professionalism with curiosity about emerging technology.
