About Ogilvy
Ogilvy was founded in 1948 by David Ogilvy. David created a culture that deeply respects and cares about its people and clients. Our mission is to inspire people and brands to make an impact and we are committed to attracting, growing, and retaining the best talent in the industry.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior (title) TEAM to bring a well-known brand to life. The team will concept a vision of creative possibility across various media touch points (TV, social, earned, activation, etc.), and will have the ability to form dynamic working partnerships with every level of the integrated team.
What You’ll Do as the Art Director of the team
- Be a brand steward
- Ideate and execute sound creative ideas for client marketing materials in an efficient and economical manner
- Create concepts that show a thorough understanding of the strategy and are extendable into campaigns
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of our client’s brand tone and implement it into all creative jobs
- Work independently and collaboratively with a Copywriter partner to develop ideas, refine concepts and ensure creative vision is achieved and client expectations are met
- Work with account supervisor and/or account executive to obtain project specifics: strategy, budget and schedule
- Team up with peers to overcome obstacles and create client success
- Offer client and team members innovative advice and solutions from industry examples and experience
- Help organize, maintain, and oversee creative standards and guidelines
- Offer insight on creative briefs and schedules
- Work within tight deadlines
- Prioritize workload and manage time effectively – personally and for the team as needed
- Remain current on latest creative trends globally. Stay curious about award shows, past and present case studies, production companies, and everything that is being created by some of the best people and companies in our industry. Only by gaining an understanding of what kind of work moves you and what it takes to get there, you will then be able to create work that moves others.
- Stay on top of the latest technological advancements, including design software, digital tools, and platforms, to enhance creative processes and deliver innovative solutions
- Remain curious about pop culture, social media trends and your audience's interests and behaviors in order to infuse culturally relevant elements into briefs and campaigns. Bring the outside world into our work, so our brands can join the conversation.
What You’ll Need
- 5-7 years’ experience as a art director
- Interest and a strong understanding of email, social media, video and other digital platforms
- Experience presenting to and working with clients and internal partners
- Demonstrated understanding of clients’ business needs, and the ability to concept and design compelling solutions that align with overall creative strategy
- Proven ability to listen, digest and resolve client feedback with a creative solution and a positive, can-do attitude
- Capable of working on multiple projects, small or large, with various project leads
- Strong creative and conceptual vision, with the ability to approach every assignment with a fresh perspective

About this role
Memac Ogilvy's Toronto office is seeking a Senior Art Director to lead creative vision for a major brand across integrated campaigns spanning TV, social, earned media, and activations. You'd partner closely with a copywriter and cross-functional teams to develop concepts grounded in strategy, translate brand tone consistently across touchpoints, and shepherd ideas from ideation through execution and client presentation.
