About this role
AST SpaceMobile is building a satellite-based cellular network to connect billions of people globally, and this role puts you at the center of that infrastructure. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll design and validate the electrical harnesses that connect critical systems on satellites and ground equipment—work that directly impacts whether these systems function reliably in space. You'll move between schematic design, component selection, and hands-on testing, collaborating with teams across power, RF, and command systems to ensure everything integrates seamlessly.
The position suits engineers with 2 to 5 years of experience who have a solid grasp of harness design fundamentals and ideally some aerospace background. You should be comfortable with CAD tools like Inventor or CATIA, familiar with EMI/EMC principles, and capable of creating detailed technical documentation. Beyond technical skills, the role demands strong communication and problem-solving ability—you'll be translating requirements across disciplines and troubleshooting issues when they arise.
This is an in-office role in Lanham, Maryland, with occasional lab work alongside your desk-based design and analysis. If you're looking to apply your electrical engineering expertise to a mission-driven aerospace project with real-world impact, this is a direct fit.
