About this role

Scout Motors is rebuilding an American icon for the electric vehicle era, and this senior-level role sits at the intersection of supplier management and quality engineering during a critical industrialization phase. You'd lead supplier quality planning and problem-solving across the company's supply chain, using advanced automotive quality tools like APQP, PPAP, VDA methodologies, and 8D root-cause analysis to ensure suppliers meet quality, timing, and capacity targets. The position demands hands-on technical expertise—auditing supplier processes, managing complex quality issues, driving corrective actions, and serving as the escalation point for manufacturing and quality risks that could impact vehicle launches.

This is a leadership role with mentoring responsibilities. You'd coach other supplier quality engineers, guide cross-functional task forces spanning Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing, and act as a subject matter expert on Scout's quality systems. The work requires deep familiarity with VW Group platforms and systems (QPNi, SAMSON, AVON, and others), along with seven or more years of automotive supplier quality or manufacturing experience. A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and VDA 6.3 auditor certification are preferred, though prior OEM or Tier 1 experience is what will set you apart.

Based in Blythewood, South Carolina, you'll spend four to five days per week in the office with regular domestic and international travel. The salary range is $120,000 to $145,000, and Scout offers competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, and 20 days of planned PTO annually plus additional unplanned time and holidays.
