About this role

Kao's Area Sales Manager role covers the professional salon market across Massachusetts and New Hampshire, leading a sales team focused on growing the Goldwell and KMS hair product lines. You'll be responsible for hitting sales targets, building client relationships, and implementing strategies that expand market share while working closely with an Education Manager to support your team's development. Reporting to a Senior Sales Manager, you'll balance direct client engagement with team leadership, ensuring your sales professionals are equipped to solicit new business and deepen existing partnerships.

The position calls for three to five years of salon sales experience and field sales management background, ideally with a bachelor's degree. You'll spend time in the field presenting product offerings and programs to salon owners and managers, coaching your direct reports through regular feedback and training, monitoring competitive activity, and preparing sales reports. The role demands someone who can model integrity and operate independently while driving results within Kao's collaborative, values-driven culture.

Kao offers a competitive package: base salary between $100,000 and $118,000 plus bonus and car allowance, comprehensive healthcare and 401(k) matching from day one, and 36 total days off annually. This is a full-time, in-office position suited for someone with proven salon sales success who's ready to step into a management role with a company recognized for ethical practices and employee wellbeing.
