About this role

EquipmentShare is looking for a carpenter in Jacksonville to join their construction operations on a volunteer basis. The role centers on traditional carpentry work—reading blueprints, building and repairing frameworks, installing fixtures like doors and cabinets, and finishing drywall—while also supporting adjacent trades including basic electrical, plumbing, and concrete work. You'll operate hand and power tools, collaborate across teams, and maintain job site standards. The position requires proven carpentry or construction experience, proficiency with tools and technical drawings, and certifications in scissor and boom lift operation.

This is a physically demanding role involving up to 90% travel with overnight and weekend commitments, heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), and work in varied outdoor and indoor conditions. You'll need the stamina for full-time hours, often starting early, and comfort working at heights and around loud equipment. EquipmentShare emphasizes their technology-driven approach to construction and positions themselves as a mission-driven company focused on industry transformation, though the day-to-day work remains hands-on carpentry.

Note that this is listed as a volunteer position, which is unusual for a full-time carpentry role with extensive travel requirements. Clarify the compensation structure and employment terms before applying.
