About this role
At 30th Street Animal Hospital, a veterinary assistant works directly with veterinarians and technicians across the full spectrum of clinical care—from assisting during examinations and surgeries to handling animal restraint, preparing sterile surgical environments, and collecting diagnostic samples. You'll also manage the front-end operations: greeting clients, scheduling appointments, processing payments, and fielding calls. The role demands comfort with hands-on animal care, including bathing and exercise, alongside attention to detail in medical record-keeping and clinic maintenance.
This position suits someone with prior veterinary experience who is comfortable with both the clinical and administrative sides of a busy practice. You'll need physical capability to safely handle animals, familiarity with sterilization and diagnostic equipment, and the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners about care and treatment. The schedule is full-time Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday morning shift, offering a four-day workweek structure.
