About this role

DWC Mechanical is looking for an experienced installer ready to step into a leadership role on commercial HVAC projects in Tampa. This position blends hands-on installation work with crew direction—you'll lead installers and helpers while actively performing equipment and ductwork installations, reading plans, organizing work sequences, and ensuring quality throughout each project from layout to startup and closeout. The role demands someone who can manage both the technical side of commercial HVAC systems and the interpersonal side of guiding less-experienced team members, all while coordinating with project managers, other trades, and customers to keep work on schedule and to spec.

You'll need solid experience installing commercial HVAC equipment and systems, plus a track record of either leading installers, running portions of projects independently, or directing helpers. Strong plan-reading skills, troubleshooting judgment, and the ability to anticipate material and scheduling needs are essential. The company values dependability, accountability, and professional communication. EPA 608 certification and OSHA training are preferred but not required; trade school or apprenticeship background is a plus.

DWC Mechanical offers competitive pay ($35–$45/hour based on experience), comprehensive health coverage with dental and vision, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off and holidays, and professional development support. This is year-round, full-time work in-office in Tampa with a company that has built its reputation over 30 years on quality workmanship and strong customer relationships.
