About this role
Klaviyo's Data Automation team is looking for a senior engineer to design and operate the infrastructure that powers their real-time data platform at scale. You'd own mission-critical analytics systems end to end, working across AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and a modern data stack that includes Clickhouse, Kafka, Spark, and Airflow. This is hands-on work—writing high-quality code, reviewing designs, and solving complex distributed systems problems in production.
You'll need at least seven years of software engineering experience, strong proficiency in a modern programming language, and proven expertise provisioning infrastructure as code and operating distributed systems in the cloud. Familiarity with both OLTP and OLAP databases and high-volume data processing is essential. Beyond technical depth, the role expects you to mentor other engineers and communicate clearly across a cross-functional team in a fast-growing environment.
The position is full-time and in-office in Boston, with a base salary range of $148,000 to $222,000 depending on experience and location. Klaviyo offers equity, bonuses, and comprehensive benefits. Up to 10% travel may be required for onboarding, team meetings, and industry events.
