About this role
Ascension's neurology department in Jacksonville is seeking a medical assistant to support clinical operations in an in-office setting. You would work under physician and nursing supervision, handling both patient-facing and administrative tasks: interviewing patients, recording vital signs and medical information, preparing examination rooms, managing phone calls and records, and ordering supplies. The role requires attention to detail across clinical documentation, basic clerical work, and maintaining an organized treatment environment.
To qualify, you'll need a high school diploma or one year of relevant medical assistant experience. BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be obtained within your first month. While not required, holding a CMA, RMA, or equivalent medical assistant credential would strengthen your candidacy, as would certification as a Basic Machine Operator in Florida. This full-time position suits someone with foundational medical office experience or training who is ready to earn their BLS and grow within a large nonprofit health system.
