About this role
Working in Morgan & Morgan's Complex Litigation team as a paralegal means handling the detailed, procedural work that keeps medical malpractice and personal injury cases moving forward. You'll draft and file court documents across state and federal systems, conduct legal research on statutes of limitation and pre-suit requirements, and manage the medical records that form the backbone of these cases—reviewing them for standard-of-care issues, building chronologies, and organizing discovery. The role requires you to juggle multiple responsibilities: coordinating depositions, preparing trial materials, communicating with clients and opposing counsel, and supporting attorneys through settlement negotiations.
This position suits someone with at least a year of legal experience, ideally in litigation or personal injury work. Medical records familiarity and knowledge of medical terminology are valuable assets. You'll need strong organizational skills to manage competing deadlines and the ability to write clearly and precisely—accuracy matters when filing pleadings and preparing exhibits. The firm values people who are willing to learn the specific procedural rules of different state courts and who can stay focused under pressure.
The role is based in Tampa and requires in-office work, which Morgan & Morgan sees as essential for building skills quickly and connecting with the team. Full-time employees receive medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and paid holidays.
