About this role
Appian is looking for an experienced Enterprise Account Executive to own a strategic territory across Commercial and Insurance sectors in Melbourne or Sydney. You'll be selling an AI-powered process automation platform to senior decision-makers who are actively modernising their legacy systems—the kind of high-stakes, complex deals that define enterprise sales. This role demands someone who can navigate multi-stakeholder environments, build pipeline through disciplined prospecting, and position themselves as a trusted advisor rather than just a transactional seller.
To succeed here, you'll need at least five years of direct software sales experience with a minimum of two years at the Enterprise Account Executive level, plus a proven track record of hitting quota and closing net-new logos. The role requires mastery of complex sales cycles, strong discovery and presentation skills, and the ability to orchestrate internal teams—Customer Success, Solutions Consultants, and partners—to accelerate deals. Experience selling to Commercial, Insurance, or Financial Services clients, or familiarity with enterprise platforms like Salesforce or ServiceNow, would give you a meaningful edge.
Appian invests in its people through structured onboarding, mentorship, continuous learning via Appian University, and a leadership development program. The company also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health coverage, mental health support, ESPP, tuition reimbursement, and family-forming benefits. This is an on-site role in a high-performing sales culture that values intensity and excellence.
