About this role
Sax Advisory Group is looking for a Director to lead its Transaction Advisory Services practice, managing buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements for private equity investors, lenders, and business owners. The role demands someone with progressive experience moving from staff through manager to director level, with deep expertise in Quality of Earnings analysis, financial statement review, and deal valuation. You'd be responsible for the full lifecycle of engagements—from identifying deal risks and preparing detailed financial analyses to presenting findings to clients and boards—while also supervising engagement teams and implementing practice improvements.
Beyond technical delivery, this position centers on business development and relationship management. You'll originate new work with private equity firms, venture capitalists, and other deal participants, lead proposals, and serve as the trusted advisor throughout the transaction process. The role combines hands-on financial modeling and GAAP analysis with leadership responsibilities for seniors and staff, requiring both the analytical rigor to spot issues affecting deal value and the communication skills to explain them clearly to diverse stakeholders.
The position is fully remote with a base in Greater Boston or New England, though occasional travel to the Boston office is expected. You'll need a CPA, a bachelor's degree in accounting or business, and a track record in financial due diligence and engagement management. Audit experience and familiarity with industries like SaaS, financial services, manufacturing, or distribution are valued. The salary range is $200,000 to $230,000.
