PILOT
SpaceX is looking for an in-house pilot for various aircraft. You will have the opportunity to fly both domestically and internationally from local airports.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure aircraft ground servicing items such as fuel, oil, oxygen, etc. are monitored and accomplished according to standard operating procedures
- Complete flight planning, performance, and weight and balance tasks for each assignment
- Complete passenger briefings according to company policy and regulation
- Utilize Threats, Plans, and Considerations briefing methodology for briefings and to mitigate operational risks
- Maintain a current first class medical certificate
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 3,000+ hours total flight time
- First class medical certificate
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Boeing 737 type rating
- G650 type rating
- 500+ hours time in type
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Within 2-4 hour travel distance to AUS
- Ability to work on an on-call basis
- Current passport
- Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg
ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. About this role
SpaceX is seeking an experienced pilot to support its aerospace operations, flying various aircraft on both domestic and international routes from airports near Austin, Texas. The role centers on safe, compliant flight operations: you'll handle pre-flight planning including weight and balance calculations, passenger briefings, and ground servicing oversight, while applying structured risk mitigation practices during each assignment. You'll maintain currency with a first class medical certificate and work on an on-call basis as operational needs demand.
This position requires a minimum of 3,000 hours of total flight time and current first class medical certification. Experience with Boeing 737 or Gulfstream G650 aircraft, plus 500+ hours in type, is highly valued. You must be able to pass Air Force background checks for access to Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg facilities, hold a current passport, and be located within 2–4 hours of Austin. U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status is required to meet ITAR export control regulations.
