About this role

Trilon Group seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and operations for Fehr Graham, a professional services firm based in Aurora. This is a hybrid, full-time executive role reporting to the President, with compensation between $180,000 and $230,000. The position combines strategic advisory work with hands-on financial management, requiring someone who can translate complex financial analysis into actionable insights for operational leaders while maintaining rigorous financial controls and reporting integrity.

The role centers on three interconnected priorities. First, you'll serve as a strategic partner to leadership on business performance, guiding decisions around revenue growth, profitability, and resource allocation—particularly project profitability, staffing efficiency, and pricing strategy. Second, you'll oversee the finance function itself: budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, working capital, and accounting operations, with accountability for financial reporting accuracy and compliance. Third, you'll support Trilon's acquisition integration activities, leading the financial onboarding of newly acquired businesses and ensuring alignment with corporate systems and standards.

This position calls for 10+ years of progressive finance leadership in project-based businesses such as engineering, consulting, or construction services. You'll need a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field, along with demonstrated success improving business performance through financial analysis and operational partnership. The ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial leaders and to build and develop a finance team are essential.
