About this role
Trilon Group seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead financial strategy and operations for Fehr Graham, a professional services firm based in Rockford. Reporting to the President, you'll serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team while owning the full scope of financial stewardship—budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial controls, and accounting functions. This hybrid role demands both executive-level judgment and hands-on involvement, balancing long-term financial planning with day-to-day operational support.
The position is well-suited to someone with 10+ years of progressive finance leadership in project-based businesses such as engineering, consulting, or construction services. You'll partner closely with operational leaders to strengthen project profitability, improve resource utilization, and inform strategic decisions through rigorous financial analysis. A significant part of the role involves acquisition integration—working with Trilon's M&A and finance teams to onboard acquired businesses, align reporting and processes, and identify operational improvements while maintaining business continuity.
Success in this role requires the ability to translate complex financial information into practical recommendations for non-financial leaders, establish a high-performing finance team, and maintain the integrity and timeliness of financial reporting. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, or a related field is required. The salary range is $180,000 to $230,000.
