Description

At Steadfast Health we’re a on a mission to deliver hope, healing, and long-term health to those experiencing substance use disorder, through best-in-class addiction treatment and an unwavering belief that lasting recovery comes from partnering with our patients as respected equals in their care journey. We’re a passionate team striving to raise the standard of compassionate care for our patients, and we know that to do that, we must care for our people first. We’d love to meet you and tell you about what we’re building!

This Role

We are seeking a mission-driven Behavioral Health Supervisor to provide remote, board-approved clinical supervision to our associate-level clinicians in North Carolina. This is a part-time, fully remote, non-client-facing role. You will not carry a clinical caseload. Your focus is developing our clinicians.

At Steadfast Health, we believe clinicians shouldn’t have to choose between patient-centered work and their own mental and financial wellbeing. Our integrated, evidence-based behavioral health model supports both patients and clinicians with compassionate, expert clinical guidance, caseloads that prioritize quality over quantity, generous and flexible time off, and financial investment in professional development.

As a supervisor here, you will have real influence over how our supervision practices and clinical culture take shape in North Carolina.

Required Licensure & Supervisory Credential

Because this role provides board-approved clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians, candidates must hold both an active, independent North Carolina clinical license and the supervisory credential recognized by that license’s board. You must hold at least one of the following:

  • LCSW (NC) with a minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical practice and an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, in good standing with the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Eligible to supervise LCSW Associates (LCSWA).
  • LCMHCS (NC), the NC Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors’ supervisor credential, required to supervise LCMHC Associates (LCMHCA). An LCMHC license alone, without the LCMHCS credential, does not qualify.
  • LMFT (NC) who is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, required to supervise LMFT Associates (LMFTA).

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide board-approved clinical supervision to associate-level clinicians through weekly individual and group supervision, in compliance with all applicable NC board requirements.
  • Guide clinicians in case conceptualization, treatment planning, and ethical practice, using a non-paternalistic, destigmatizing approach to care.
  • Review clinical documentation and treatment plans to support quality of care and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Be available for clinical consultation on complex cases and crisis situations, and support decisions about coordinating higher levels of care.
  • Collaborate with the Medical Director, Peer Supervisor, Facility Administrator or Operations Director, and Clinical Operations leadership to align clinical care and operational goals.
  • Maintain all required supervision documentation, contracts, and reporting per NC board standards.
  • Support clinician growth toward full licensure.

Qualifications

  • Active, independent North Carolina clinical licensure with a board-recognized supervisory credential, as detailed above
  • Prior experience providing clinical supervision remotely is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of SUD diagnoses, medications, and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust and work effectively with diverse staff.
  • Passion for Steadfast Health’s mission to provide low-barrier, non-punitive, harm-reduction-oriented SUD care.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while participating in video sessions, meetings, and documentation work.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing and handling documentation.
  • Sufficient visual and auditory ability to communicate effectively by video and review documentation.
  • Work may involve discussing high-stress clinical situations and requires emotional resilience and sound judgment.
  • Schedules reflect current anticipated needs and may evolve as the organization grows.

About this role

Steadfast Health is building an addiction treatment program centered on harm-reduction and patient dignity, and they're looking for a clinical supervisor to shape how that mission plays out in North Carolina. This part-time, fully remote role means supervising associate-level clinicians through weekly individual and group sessions—no client caseload of your own. You'll guide clinicians on case conceptualization, treatment planning, and ethical practice; review documentation; consult on complex cases; and support their progression toward full licensure, all while collaborating with medical and operations leadership to keep clinical care aligned with organizational goals.

The position requires an active North Carolina clinical license with the appropriate supervisory credential: LCSW with at least two years post-licensure experience, LCMHCS, or LMFT-S. You'll need solid knowledge of substance use disorder diagnoses and treatment, strong communication skills, and genuine commitment to low-barrier, non-punitive care. Remote supervision experience is a plus. The role demands emotional resilience given the nature of clinical consultation on high-stress situations, but it offers real influence over supervision practices and clinical culture at an organization explicitly committed to clinician wellbeing alongside patient care.
