About this role
SpaceX's Starbase Development Team is building residential and commercial infrastructure to support operations at their Texas facility, and this role owns the quality and warranty program across that construction portfolio. You'd manage quality assurance from design review through post-occupancy, investigating warranty issues, coordinating repairs, and holding builders and vendors accountable for performance. The position bridges design, construction, and maintenance teams, requiring you to catch problems early, root-cause failures when they occur, and drive systemic improvements based on lessons learned.
You'll need at least five years of hands-on experience in residential construction, engineering, or facilities development, plus a degree in a related field or six years of closeout and warranty work. The role favors candidates with quality assurance or warranty background and working knowledge of residential building systems—structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and envelope work. You should be comfortable reviewing technical drawings, interpreting specifications, and making independent decisions while collaborating across multiple teams.
This is an onsite position in Starbase requiring availability for extended hours and weekend work as project deadlines demand. You'll occasionally travel to other SpaceX locations and need to be physically capable of moving materials on construction sites. U.S. citizenship or equivalent ITAR authorization is required.
