About this role

Monroe Tractor, a family-owned equipment dealer with 75 years of regional presence, is seeking a diesel technician to join its Albany service branch. You'd be responsible for the full spectrum of heavy equipment maintenance and repair—from routine servicing to complex engine diagnostics—working on construction and agricultural equipment for a customer base of over 15,000. The role requires you to read job orders, troubleshoot equipment issues by observation and test-drive, follow safety checklists, manage warranty documentation, and keep current with manufacturer technical bulletins and training.

This position suits someone with prior hands-on experience in heavy equipment or agricultural equipment service who works independently but collaborates well with colleagues. You'll need strong communication skills, a valid driver's license with a clean record, the ability to lift 50–75 pounds regularly, and solid computer competency. Monroe Tractor emphasizes customer relationships and workspace organization alongside technical competence, so the ideal candidate balances technical problem-solving with professional customer service.

The role offers medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) with employer match; paid time off; an annual tool and shoe allowance; uniforms; and ongoing manufacturer training. Compensation ranges from $20 to $40 per hour, scaled to your experience and proven skills.
