About this role

LightFeather is hiring a Senior ServiceNow CMDB Engineer to support a federal program, a role that combines deep platform expertise with direct client engagement. You'll design and build ServiceNow solutions across the CMDB, ITSM, Service Catalog, and custom applications, working to translate stakeholder needs into scalable technical implementations. The position emphasizes both technical depth—CMDB data modeling, Discovery configuration, advanced scripting, and third-party integrations—and the ability to communicate clearly across business and technical audiences in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires at least five years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, a ServiceNow Certified Application Developer credential, and strong JavaScript skills across server and client layers. You'll need an active Secret clearance (Top Secret is required; LightFeather will sponsor upgrades for qualified candidates), and U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to federal contract requirements. Experience implementing or maturing a CMDB is essential, as is familiarity with Service Catalog, ITSM modules, and REST/SOAP integrations.

This is a hybrid position in Washington, D.C. paying $180,000–$200,000 annually. Prior federal or defense contracting experience and knowledge of security frameworks like NIST and FISMA are valued but not required. If you have the ServiceNow foundation and clearance eligibility, this role offers the chance to work on mission-critical federal solutions with a team focused on meaningful impact.
