About this role

LightFeather is hiring a GCP Cloud/DevOps Engineer for a full-time, in-person role in Washington, D.C. supporting federal government contracts. You'll design and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on GCP while developing infrastructure-as-code solutions and CI/CD pipelines. The work spans the full stack of cloud operations—from architecting VPC and compute resources to automating deployments and ensuring compliance with federal security standards like FedRAMP and NIST. You'll collaborate directly with software engineers, security teams, and government stakeholders to optimize cloud systems and troubleshoot production issues.

This role requires at least four years of cloud engineering experience with a minimum of two years specifically on GCP, plus hands-on proficiency with Terraform, CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, and Linux systems. U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to federal contract requirements and the need to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. The position pays $120,000–$140,000 and demands full-time in-office presence in D.C.

The ideal candidate has worked in government contracting environments, understands ATO processes, and ideally holds a GCP Professional certification. Python, Bash, or Go scripting skills and familiarity with AWS or Azure are valued additions. If you have the clearance eligibility, deep GCP expertise, and interest in mission-critical infrastructure work in a high-security setting, this contract role offers meaningful technical challenges.
