About this role

Ascension's occupational therapy role in Derby involves direct patient care—evaluating and treating individuals with physical, emotional, or cognitive limitations, then designing and implementing personalized recovery plans. You'll work across the full scope of OT practice, from clinical assessment through discharge planning, with particular emphasis on preparing patients and their families for safe transitions home.

Beyond direct treatment, you'll have clinical leadership responsibilities, overseeing therapy assistants and technicians to maintain evidence-based standards across the team. This means balancing hands-on therapy with staff coordination and family education. The position requires an OTR credential from the Kansas Board of Healing Arts and a bachelor's degree minimum (master's or doctorate preferred), plus BLS certification within your first month. This is a full-time, in-office role within a large nonprofit Catholic health system.
