About this role

Yext's Commercial Counsel role sits at the intersection of sales enablement and legal risk management for an enterprise SaaS platform. You'd spend your time drafting and negotiating customer contracts across three sales channels—Enterprise, Mid-Market, and Partner—while also refining the company's standard agreements and negotiation processes to support scaling. The work involves balancing commercial flexibility with legal protection, particularly around data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, CPRA) that are central to SaaS transactions in this space.

The ideal candidate has 3 to 5 years of commercial law experience, either at a law firm or in-house, with demonstrated strength in contract drafting and negotiation. SaaS and technology industry background is strongly preferred. Beyond legal chops, the role demands someone comfortable in a fast-paced environment who can work cross-functionally with sales and business teams, meet tight deadlines, and eventually train internal stakeholders on contract processes. You'll need a law degree and active bar license; foreign language skills are a bonus but not required.

This is a contract position based in New York (preferred) or Washington D.C. with hybrid flexibility, offering a salary range of $111,600 to $229,000 depending on experience and performance. The package includes standard benefits plus potential variable pay tied to performance goals.
