Description
As our repair expert, you are an essential part of the resident experience! You will work closely with the Director of Maintenance and Maintenance Managers to maintain our building by handling all requests for repairs and improvements.
Starting compensation: $25/hr
Responsibilities
- Complete work orders as requested by residents
- Wood flooring and/or wallpaper replacement
- Paint/paint touch up
- Complete the make-ready process to prepare vacant units for leasing
- Conduct move-out inspections
- Minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and painting tasks
Attributes
- High school diploma or GED required
- HVAC experience preferred
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs
- 1-3 years’ experience in maintenance or related professional area required
- Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally with tenants, management and co-workers
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- Strong time management skills, attention to detail and thoroughness

About this role
Urby is looking for a hands-on maintenance technician to keep their Harrison, New Jersey residential building running smoothly. You'll handle a broad range of repair and upkeep tasks—everything from responding to resident work orders and managing unit turnovers to tackling paint, flooring, wallpaper, and minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC work. The role reports to the Director of Maintenance and requires you to work closely with management and residents, so clear communication and reliability are as important as technical skills.
You'll need a high school diploma or GED, one to three years of maintenance experience, and the ability to lift at least 30 pounds regularly. HVAC experience is a plus. The position is full-time, in-office at the Harrison location, starting at $25 per hour.
