About this role
At New Era Technology, the Material Specialist role centers on keeping inventory operations running smoothly across the company's warehouse in Indianapolis. You'll handle the full lifecycle of materials—receiving packages and checking them against purchase orders, picking and packing shipments to meet project deadlines, managing cycle counts, and coordinating with the Inventory Controller to resolve discrepancies. The work involves physical demands typical of warehouse environments: lifting up to 50 pounds regularly (occasionally 75), standing for extended periods, and using equipment like forklifts alongside computer systems to track and record transactions.
Success in this position requires attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and the capacity to work independently while staying organized under shifting schedules. You'll need a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, forklift certification (or willingness to obtain it), and prior experience with inventory systems. The role demands proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort adapting to a fast-paced, warehouse setting with moderate noise levels and exposure to temperature fluctuations and mechanical equipment.
New Era Technology emphasizes professional development and team culture, offering full benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and 28 PTO days. This is a Monday–Friday day shift position with occasional overtime as needed, suited for someone who values reliable, hands-on warehouse work and wants to grow within a larger organization.
