Description
We're Proof, a high-growth startup in the legal tech industry, founded in 2017. We offer a best-in-class legal services platform used by thousands of law firms and property management companies. Our platform enables law firms and collections parties to access efficient, transparent, and accessible legal and document delivery services, traditionally out of reach. Position Summary:
The Senior E-Filing Specialist will serve as subject matter expert and problem solver for the team handling complex filing work, resolving escalations and exceptions, and helping ensure we consistently deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality results for our clients. Quality is fundamental to earning and maintaining our clients' trust.
This role is ideal for someone who does not simply ask, “How do I complete this filing?” but also “Why did this issue happen, and how can we prevent it from happening again?”
What You'll Do:
- Complete new case initiations and subsequent filings thru entire filing lifecycle, including affidavits, motions, dismissals, and other case-related documents following client instructions and Proof procedures.
- Serve as a point of escalation for complex, unusual, or high-risk filing situations, researching and resolving rejected filings and other filing-related issues.
- Work through scenarios where standard procedures do not provide a clear answer, using research, judgment, and appropriate escalation.
- Assist with high-priority or sensitive client matters requiring elevated attention.
- Review exceptions, errors, and filing trends to identify areas of operational risk.
- Meet established turnaround times while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
What You'll Bring:
- 3+ years of prior experience with legal e-filing, court filing, legal operations, litigation support, collections, or a similar legal services environment strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Comfortable handling escalations and situations where the answer is not immediately clear.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong judgment and willingness to raise concerns when something appears incorrect or creates risk.

About this role
Proof is a legal tech startup looking for a Senior E-Filing Specialist to join its Southfield office as the team's subject matter expert on complex court filings. You'd handle the full lifecycle of case work—initiations, affidavits, motions, dismissals, and related documents—while serving as the escalation point for unusual situations, rejected filings, and high-risk matters that fall outside standard procedures. The role demands someone who thinks beyond the immediate task: you'll investigate why problems occur, identify operational risks, and help prevent issues from recurring.
You should have at least three years in legal e-filing, court filing, legal operations, litigation support, collections, or a comparable legal services environment. The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong judgment, and comfort working through ambiguous scenarios where research and appropriate escalation matter as much as following procedure. You'll need to balance multiple priorities and tight turnaround times without sacrificing accuracy—quality is central to maintaining client trust.
The role is full-time and in-office in Southfield, with two work-from-home days per month. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 based on experience, plus eligibility for a company bonus plan. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, and 401(k), along with flexible paid time off and paid holidays.
