About this role
Leading a shift at Blank Street's Wellesley location means owning the day-to-day operations of a high-volume cafe while keeping both customers and your team engaged. You'll craft coffee and matcha drinks, handle customer service and problem-solving, train new hires, and work directly with the General Manager to drive sales and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on role—you'll be on the floor during your shift, modeling the brand's commitment to hospitality and attention to detail.
The ideal candidate brings at least two years of customer service leadership experience, ideally in hospitality or food and beverage, along with genuine knowledge of coffee or matcha culture. You'll need strong interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and the physical capacity to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ pounds. Weekend and holiday availability is preferred, as you'll work 30–40 hours across 4–5 days per week, including at least two peak days.
Compensation is $21 per hour plus tips, with benefits including a barista accreditation program, paid time off based on tenure, sick time, commuter benefits, holiday pay at 1.5x, and complimentary products during shifts. This role suits someone who genuinely enjoys cafe culture and connecting with people, and who's ready to step into a leadership position in a growing brand.
