About this role

Curaleaf is looking for a technical accounting leader to own complex accounting matters and drive financial reporting rigor across a rapidly growing cannabis company. You'll research and document intricate U.S. GAAP issues, lead the accounting side of mergers and acquisitions, partner with Legal, Tax, and Corporate Development on transaction structuring, and serve as the primary technical contact for external auditors. The role also involves developing accounting policies, monitoring regulatory changes, supporting SOX compliance, and guiding the broader accounting team on specialized topics like business combinations, revenue recognition, and stock-based compensation.

This position suits someone with at least seven years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting or technical accounting work, plus hands-on M&A transaction experience. You'll need an active CPA, strong U.S. GAAP expertise, and demonstrated ability to research complex issues independently and communicate findings clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional partners. SEC reporting or Big Four background is preferred but not required; what matters most is comfort working hands-on in a complex, fast-moving environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

Based in Stamford, Connecticut, this is a full-time, in-office role with approximately 10% travel. The salary range is $170,000 to $200,000, with benefits including competitive pay, generous PTO and parental leave, 401(k), life and disability insurance, and community involvement opportunities.
