About this role

Astranis is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead satellite programs at a company operating five spacecraft in orbit with over $1 billion in contracted work ahead. You'd report to a Director and own end-to-end program execution—building integrated schedules, managing interdependencies across engineering and production, tracking budgets, identifying and resolving risks, and keeping cross-functional teams aligned on a fast-moving hardware development timeline. This is a visible role where your ability to navigate complexity, negotiate trade-offs, and communicate progress directly impacts whether satellites launch on time.

The position requires at least eight years of experience on large, complex hardware programs plus four years in engineering or project management. You'll need strong skills with scheduling tools like Smartsheet, comfort working in ambiguous environments, and the ability to solve problems creatively under pressure. A background in an engineering discipline and proven track record managing interdependencies across multiple teams are essential. The role is based in San Francisco and requires in-office work; U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required due to space technology export regulations.

Compensation includes a base salary of $150,000–$205,000, equity via stock options, subsidized healthcare, 401(k) matching, flexible PTO, and on-site meals. This is a full-time position at a well-funded company with 500 engineers backed by major investors including Andreessen Horowitz and Blackrock.
