About this role

Oscar's actuarial team is looking for a senior analyst to own the reserving function across their ACA health insurance markets. You'd establish monthly IBNR and risk adjustment accruals, dig into performance trends to inform pricing and strategy, and use SQL and Python to build out analytical frameworks for the broader team. The role also involves regulatory filing submissions and helping shape how Oscar approaches automation and documentation across actuarial work.

This position suits someone with at least three years of actuarial or related experience and either SOA credentials or clear progress toward them. You'll need a STEM degree and comfort moving between detailed technical work—writing queries, analyzing data—and cross-functional communication with internal teams and external partners. The company offers a rotational program option, suggesting room to develop beyond reserving if you're interested, and you'd report to the Manager, Actuarial.

Based in Dallas, the role is fully remote with potential for hybrid flexibility down the line. The base salary ranges from $91,660 to $120,303, plus performance bonuses, unlimited vacation, and standard health and retirement benefits.
