About this role
At Pinterest, you'd lead the technical strategy for the Ads Conversion Core Modeling team, owning the ML systems that drive the platform's advertising marketplace. The work centers on designing and building large-scale deep neural networks to predict user actions with low latency, drawing from text, visual, and behavioral signals to infer user intent and interests. You'll also drive automation across the development lifecycle—using AI tools to accelerate documentation, analysis, testing, and QA—while maintaining rigorous oversight of outputs and data protection.
This role requires at least six years building production ML systems at scale in domains like search, recommendations, or ranking, plus two years of technical leadership experience. You should have a strong foundation in statistics and A/B testing, and be genuinely proficient with AI coding assistants and LLM-powered tools as part of your daily workflow. The position values judgment and accountability alongside technical skill: you're expected to use AI to move faster without over-relying on it or compromising quality.
The hybrid arrangement requires you to be in the San Francisco, Palo Alto, or Seattle area for 1–2 days per month of in-person collaboration. The salary range is $222,716–$389,753, with equity eligibility. Note that relocation assistance is not available.
