About this role

Millstone Weber, a 100-year-old employee-owned transportation infrastructure builder, is seeking a Safety Intern for summer 2027 to support EH&S programs across active construction sites in the Denver area. You'd work directly with Safety Coordinators and Superintendents on highway, bridge, airfield, and rail projects, assisting with daily site inspections, safety documentation, incident investigations, and compliance tracking. The role involves hands-on work—walking jobsites, reviewing safety submittals and training records, organizing JSAs and permits, and helping promote safety culture across project teams.

This internship suits current students pursuing degrees in Safety Management, Environmental Health, or Construction Management who have foundational knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety. You'll need strong organizational and communication skills, comfort with Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools, and the physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather, climb ladders, and occasionally navigate confined spaces. A valid driver's license is required since you'll travel between project sites.

The position is in-office and on-site in Denver, paying $20–$23 per hour. Expect moderate to loud noise levels, exposure to weather, and significant time spent on construction sites where you'll be standing, walking uneven ground, and regularly lifting up to 25 pounds.
