Role Overview

As a Product Associate, you will work directly within our Gurugram engineering team, helping to shepherd product enhancements and customer-reported issues through Eptura's AI Development Lifecycle (AIDLC). You'll connect product priorities and engineering execution, keeping work organized, clearly specified, and moving forward on our Jira kanban boards.

This is a role for someone who is curious, organized, and eager to learn how great software products are built. You don't need prior experience in product management. You do need strong attention to detail, clear communication, demonstrated capabilities in using AI, and a genuine interest in how technology solves real-world problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Jira kanban board: keeping tickets well-organized, clearly described, and appropriately prioritized in collaboration with engineering leads.
  • Help triage incoming product enhancement requests and customer-reported defects, gathering the context engineers need to act on them.
  • Work with AI to write clear, structured user stories and acceptance criteria that translate business needs into actionable engineering tasks.
  • Coordinate with engineers to track progress, surface blockers, and ensure items move efficiently through the AIDLC stages.
  • Participate in requirement-gathering conversations with product managers and stakeholders, capturing key decisions and open questions.
  • Assist in drafting functional specifications and supporting documentation for new or enhanced product features, also working with AI.
  • Support basic testing activities: reviewing completed work against acceptance criteria and flagging discrepancies.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvement of our AIDLC processes and team ways of working.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

We're looking for a motivated self-starter who is keen to build a career in product or technology. The following will set you up for success in this role:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English: you'll be writing tickets, specs, and summaries that engineers and stakeholders rely on.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to organizing information.
  • Comfort working in a structured, process-driven environment: you like things to be clear, tracked, and accounted for.
  • Curiosity about how software products are built and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Familiarity with project or task management tools (Jira experience is a plus).
  • A proactive mindset: you spot gaps, follow up, and take ownership of your work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess AI outputs, identify limitations or risks, and recommend improvements to enhance product value.
  • AI-related experience:
  • Understanding of AI fundamentals, including large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, automation workflows, and responsible AI principles.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity: research, data analysis, content creation, or workflow automation, either through academic, personal, or professional projects. Ability to build and demonstrate an AI agent.
  • Ability to evaluate Ai-driven product opportunities, gathering feedback and translating it into feature recommendations.

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to agile or kanban workflows (even in an academic or personal project context).
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts: you don't need to code, but knowing what engineers do helps.
  • Prior internship, project, or coursework related to business analysis, product management, or software delivery.
