About this role

Applied Engineering is looking for an electrical engineering intern to join their Beulah, North Dakota office and contribute to real projects across their four-state Midwest region. You'll work on the full scope of electrical engineering—from designing control systems and troubleshooting equipment issues to creating documentation and supporting commissioning of new installations. The role blends hands-on technical work with collaboration across operations, maintenance, and planning teams, so you'll gain exposure to how engineering decisions translate into plant performance improvements.

This internship requires a bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering and solid foundational knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. You'll need to be comfortable reading technical diagrams, communicating clearly both verbally and in writing, and working independently as well as part of a team. The position also involves physical demands—climbing ladders, working at heights up to 150 feet, and lifting up to 50 pounds—plus occasional travel for vendor meetings and training.

The company is employee-owned, has won awards for workplace culture, and emphasizes career growth and skill development.
