About this role
Appian's FP&A team is looking for someone to own the financial planning infrastructure that guides how the company allocates resources across its operations. You'd lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles, build financial models for scenario planning, and translate data into strategic recommendations for executive leadership. The work centers on driving financial discipline while supporting Appian's expansion in AI-powered process automation—meaning your analyses directly influence where the company invests as it scales.
This role demands someone with at least five years of FP&A or corporate finance experience and advanced Excel skills, particularly in complex forecasting and variance analysis. You'll partner closely with department heads on headcount planning and ROI analyses, then communicate findings to senior leaders in ways that clarify trade-offs and priorities. A background in SaaS, public company environments, or tools like Anaplan and Power BI would strengthen your candidacy, though the core requirement is the ability to synthesize large datasets into clear business narratives.
The position is full-time, in-office five days a week at headquarters in McLean, Virginia, with a base salary range of $100,000–$200,000 and eligibility for bonus, equity, and standard benefits including 401(k) match and flexible time off.
