About this role

At 1-800 Contacts' Charlotte distribution center, you'd work the back table operation—the quality control checkpoint where packages are verified for accuracy before shipping to customers. The role is physically demanding: you'll stand and walk your entire shift, lift at least 30 pounds regularly, and use ladders to access inventory at various heights. Beyond checking packages, you'll coordinate across departments and move quickly to keep orders flowing out on time.

This position suits someone with genuine stamina and a self-directed work style. You need a high school diploma or GED, but more importantly, you need the kind of hustle that means showing up ready to problem-solve on the fly and multitask under pressure. The company emphasizes its culture and values—big-hearted, tenacious, unconventional—and looks for people who take that seriously, not just as words on a page.

The schedule is Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30am to 8:30pm, starting October 26th at $17 per hour with potential to reach $19 based on performance. Beyond pay, you'd get vision coverage and deep discounts on lenses and glasses, a 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, and genuine pathways into other departments through training and internal internship programs. If you're looking for a warehouse role with real career development and a company that invests in its people, this is worth considering.
