About this role

BHE Renewables is seeking a District Operations Manager to oversee underground storage field operations in Redfield, Iowa. You would manage injection and withdrawal activities, well performance, reservoir management, and maintenance coordination while directing a team of skill-based pay employees. The role requires balancing operational reliability with customer service, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing system performance across compression, measurement, and pipeline facilities.

This position demands six to ten years of progressive field operations experience, including at least three years in a supervisory or management capacity. A bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent work experience can substitute. Beyond technical knowledge of pipeline and compression systems, you'll need strong business acumen—budget management, cost control, and strategic planning are core to the job. You'll also spend significant time on people management: hiring, training, performance reviews, and ensuring your team maintains the skill sets required by evolving regulations and operational demands.

The role suits someone comfortable with both hands-on technical oversight and administrative responsibility, who can communicate effectively with internal leadership, field teams, and external customers and government agencies. Success here requires self-motivation to drive continuous improvement, strong problem-solving abilities, and the diplomacy to manage competing priorities across a complex operation.
