About Parabilis Medicines

Parabilis Medicines is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to creating extraordinary medicines for patients with serious diseases by unlocking biologically important targets long considered undruggable. The company has pioneered a new class of alpha-helical peptides – Helicons™ – capable of modulating intracellular proteins that have historically been beyond the reach of conventional medicines. The company’s lead investigational medicine, zolucatetide, is the first and only direct inhibitor of the β-catenin:TCF interaction, a central node in the Wnt/β-catenin pathway that has eluded drug developers for decades. Zolucatetide is being evaluated in the clinic across multiple Wnt/β-catenin-driven diseases, including desmoid tumors, familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and a range of other solid tumor indications. Beyond zolucatetide, Parabilis is advancing additional Helicon-based programs focused on other challenging targets where we believe our medicines could have life-altering impact. What’s the opportunity?

Parabilis Medicines, Inc. is seeking a highly talented and motivated Principal Product Manager to help define and implement the vision, roadmap, and delivery of the informatics, AI, and data products that power our organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Software and Data Engineering, you will be a genuine thought partner to engineering and scientific leadership, shaping where we go as well as driving how we get there. You will work across the company to translate stakeholder needs into pragmatic, well-sequenced plans, and partner closely with software engineers and data scientists to ship software that users actually adopt. This is a senior individual contributor role that will lead through influence rather than authority: prioritizing work, defining requirements across, and holding cross-functional teams accountable for delivery, without direct people management responsibilities.

You’ll partner day-to-day with a data science and engineering team that is a central pillar of Parabilis’s innovative discovery platform, and with the research teams developing medicines for “undruggable” disease targets. Our data science team is an integrated team ranging from computational biology, bioinformatics, computational drug discovery, research informatics and data engineering. We work at the interface of chemistry, biology, clinical and computational sciences, and are responsible for all aspects of data science from building the discovery pipeline to supporting and developing our discovery platform. Your remit spans this scientific work and the broader portfolio of AI-driven tools we are building for every function across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Help define and drive the product vision and roadmap for our AI, informatics, and data products, translating organizational strategy into a sequenced plan the team can execute against
  • Partner with stakeholders across research, development, clinical, and business functions to gather requirements, build lasting trust, and separate the critical few needs from the nice-to-haves
  • Own the execution plans, timelines, and delivery for the company-wide portfolio of AI-driven life science tools tools — identifying where AI can automate and scale the work of scientists and business teams, creating reliable and reproducible data science tools, and prioritizing turning open ended possibilities into prioritized workstreams
  • Work with software engineers and data scientists to turn needs into clearly scoped plans with realistic timelines and explicit, well-communicated tradeoffs
  • Favor functional prototypes over lengthy design documents — get working software in front of users early, gather feedback on a regular cadence, and iterate toward the right answer
  • Make pragmatic decisions under real timelines while protecting the long-term sustainability and quality of what gets built
  • Make extensive use of AI in your own work — research, requirements, specs, prototypes, and analysis — and set the standard for how a small team scales its output
  • Define what success looks like for every product, instrument adoption and impact, and hold the team and yourself to those measures

Requirements

  • BS or MS in a scientific, engineering, or computational field, with 8+ years of product management or product ownership experience delivering software products
  • Experience working within life sciences — pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a closely adjacent regulated sector — is required
  • Proven track record of delivery: products you have shipped, that real users adopted, with outcomes you can speak to concretely
  • Ability to frame problems and set direction without getting lost in the weeds, while still going deep when a decision demands it
  • Heavy, fluent personal use of AI tools to automate and scale your own work, paired with sound judgment about where AI genuinely helps the business and where it does not
  • Exceptional requirements gathering and stakeholder management — you build rapport and trust quickly, and people seek you out rather than route around you
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication; you can brief a bench scientist and an executive on the same decision, each in their own language
  • Decisive under ambiguity and flexible in approach — you commit to a direction, and you change it when the evidence changes
  • Enough technical fluency to work credibly with software engineers on architecture, scope, and technical-debt tradeoffs — no coding required, but you should be able to hold your own
  • Demonstrated experience with iterative, prototype-driven delivery and regular user feedback loops

Preferred

  • Subject matter expertise in drug discovery, research informatics, or computational biology
  • Experience building internal AI/ML platforms or agentic tools for non-technical users
  • Familiarity with regulated or compliance-driven environments (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, ISO 27001)
  • Experience as the first or only product hire in an organization, standing up product practice from scratch

Core Values

Parabilis Medicines is a team of passionate pioneers who are trailblazing the future of precision medicine with the aim of making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients. The company is committed to promoting an inspiring and flourishing working environment for all employees across the business, in all departments, and driving innovation for patient benefit.

  • Growth-Minded. We’re inventing a new class of medicines—one applicable to therapeutic targets that have been dreamt about, but always considered impossible to drug. Our work requires us to be curious, humble and adaptable.
  • In(ter)dependent. We are fiercely independent as a leader in defying the limitations of current therapeutic modalities, and interdependent as a team as we work collaboratively to shift drug discovery paradigms and provide patients with better treatment options.
  • Patient-focused. We are deeply focused on patient outcomes, and all energy in the company is focused on science as it translates to patient impact.
  • All-In. We’re All-In on solving some of the hardest scientific challenges and delivering one of the most effective new classes of drugs in history.

The base salary range for this position is $170,000-$205,000 per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal practices. Parabilis’s total compensation package also includes an annual target bonus, equity, and a comprehensive suite of competitive benefits designed to support our employees’ overall well-being.

About this role

Parabilis Medicines is building AI and data products at the heart of its platform for discovering medicines against previously undruggable targets. As Principal Product Manager, you'd own the vision and roadmap for this portfolio—spanning computational tools that power drug discovery, research informatics, and AI-driven applications across the company. You'd report to the Senior Director of Software and Data Engineering and operate as a senior individual contributor, influencing strategy and execution across research, development, clinical, and business teams without direct management responsibilities.

The role demands someone who can translate messy stakeholder needs into pragmatic, sequenced delivery plans and partner closely with data scientists and software engineers to ship products that actually get used. You'll work at the intersection of chemistry, biology, and computational science, identifying where AI can genuinely automate and scale scientific work, then turning those possibilities into prioritized workstreams with clear success metrics. This means favoring working prototypes over lengthy specs, gathering feedback on a regular cadence, and making hard tradeoffs between what's urgent and what protects long-term quality.

You'll need 8+ years of product management experience shipping software that real users adopted, grounded in life sciences (pharma, biotech, or regulated adjacent sectors). The role calls for exceptional stakeholder management and communication—you should build trust quickly and speak credibly to both bench scientists and executives. Fluent, pragmatic use of AI tools in your own work is essential, as is enough technical fluency to discuss architecture and scope with engineers. Drug discovery expertise is preferred but not required; what matters is a track record of delivery under ambiguity, iterative thinking, and sound judgment about where technology actually solves problems.
