Description

ON.energy is setting the standard for large load interconnection. ON’s patented AI UPS™ is a medium-voltage UPS that serves as a firewall, protecting the data center from the grid, and the grid from the data center. With multiple gigawatts currently under construction, we are enabling grid-safe data centers.

About the role

ON.energy is building and operating hyperscale power systems at gigawatt scale. The Finance organization is scaling the systems, processes and controls that support that growth: a NetSuite implementation, Ramp, an inventory management system, process and controls work, and the Road to IPO.

This is a new position, created to own the execution of that portfolio end to end: Idea → Design → Plan → Implementation → Testing → Go-Live → Stabilization → Handover.

The role reports directly to the CFO, with dotted lines to the VP of Accounting/FP&A and the Head of Corporate Finance. That placement gives it a cross-functional mandate across all of Finance rather than a single sub-function. It works daily with Accounting, Treasury, Tax, FP&A, IT, Operations, Procurement, Legal, external advisors and vendors.

Role mission

Own and drive the successful execution of strategic Finance transformation projects, ensuring clear scope, accountability, timelines, cross-functional coordination, risk management, implementation and sustainable adoption. The role acts as Finance PMO Lead under the CFO as Executive Sponsor: it maintains the master plan, controls dependencies, tracks milestones, coordinates advisors, maintains the readiness tracker, identifies delays and escalates decisions.

Key responsibilities

Project management

  • Develop project charters, scope, objectives, deliverables and success criteria.
  • Build detailed implementation plans and milestones.
  • Establish project governance and meeting cadence.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and track deliverables and dependencies.
  • Maintain project documentation and drive projects through completion.

Project governance

  • Establish and maintain a consistent governance methodology: Executive Sponsor, Project Owner, Project Manager, Workstream Owners, Timeline, RACI, Budget, Risks, Decision Log and Status for every project.
  • Report project status to the CFO on a fixed cadence, with the VP of Accounting/FP&A and the Head of Corporate Finance included.

Risk & issue management

  • Maintain the risk register, issue log, dependency tracker, decision log and escalation process.
  • Surface problems early and bring decisions to the CFO. Do not wait until a project is late to communicate that it is late.

Finance systems implementation

  • Lead requirements gathering, process mapping and system design workshops.
  • Coordinate data migration, UAT and cutover planning.
  • Run go-live, hypercare and the post-implementation review.
  • Manage implementation partners and vendors: statements of work, deliverables, quality and escalation.

Change management

  • Coordinate stakeholder communication, training plans and SOPs.
  • Own go-live readiness, post-go-live support and process documentation.
  • Track user adoption against defined adoption KPIs.

Finance transformation portfolio

  • Build and maintain the Finance Transformation Roadmap: initiative, owner, PM, priority, status and target date.
  • Run a monthly portfolio review with the CFO, the VP of Accounting/FP&A and the Head of Corporate Finance.

Qualifications

Required

  • 7–10 years of experience combining Finance / Accounting, Project Management, Finance Transformation and ERP implementation.
  • Track record leading finance systems implementations end to end from the client side.
  • Working command of core finance processes — close, AP/AR, expense, inventory and costing — and how they are reflected in an ERP.
  • Experience managing implementation partners and vendors on scope, timeline and quality.
  • Strong written and executive communication; able to drive accountability without direct authority.
  • Professional English and Spanish, given that vendors and advisors work in both

Preferred

  • NetSuite, Oracle or SAP; finance transformation; SOX; process redesign; UAT and data migration; internal controls; high-growth companies.
  • Energy, infrastructure or construction industry exposure, including project accounting and project finance.
  • PMP, CPA, CMA, Agile / Scrum or Lean Six Sigma. PMP is nice-to-have, not a requirement — successful ERP implementations count for more.

About this role

ON.energy is scaling its finance operations to support gigawatt-scale power systems and a path to IPO, and this newly created role owns the execution of that entire transformation portfolio. You'd report directly to the CFO and serve as the Finance PMO Lead, steering multiple concurrent initiatives—NetSuite implementation, inventory management systems, process controls, and IPO readiness—from conception through stabilization and handover. The position sits at the center of Finance, with dotted lines to Accounting, FP&A, and Corporate Finance, giving you a cross-functional mandate that touches Accounting, Treasury, Tax, IT, Operations, Procurement, Legal, and external advisors daily.

The core of the work is disciplined project and portfolio management: building charters and detailed plans, establishing governance frameworks with clear RACI and decision logs, managing risks and dependencies proactively, and keeping the CFO informed on a fixed cadence. You'll lead requirements gathering and system design workshops, coordinate data migration and UAT, run go-lives and post-implementation reviews, and manage vendors on scope, timeline, and quality. Change management and user adoption tracking are equally critical—you own readiness, training, SOPs, and adoption KPIs.

This role demands 7–10 years combining finance operations, project management, and hands-on ERP implementation experience from the client side. You need working knowledge of core finance processes (close, AP/AR, expense, inventory, costing) and the ability to drive accountability across teams without direct authority. Spanish fluency is required given vendor and advisor involvement. NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP experience; SOX knowledge; and background in energy, infrastructure, or construction would strengthen your candidacy. The position is based in Miami and requires in-office work.
