About this role
Lydech's Materials Manager role centers on leading a team through the full supply chain lifecycle—from supplier scheduling and inventory control to production logistics and delivery performance. You'll own multiple direct reports and drive operational efficiency by applying lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, optimize inventory turns, and move toward pull-based scheduling with Kanban systems. The position requires hands-on involvement in quality monitoring, process improvement, and strategic planning alongside other management leaders.
This role suits someone with a technical background (bachelor's degree or five-plus years of supply chain experience) who combines strong analytical skills with genuine people leadership. You'll need solid proficiency in MRP systems—D365 experience is strongly preferred—and comfort with Excel, Teams, and other core business tools. The ideal candidate has negotiated with suppliers, managed inventory systems to prevent line shortages, and understands how receiving, work-in-progress, and finished goods flow through a manufacturing operation.
The position is based in Hamptonville, North Carolina and requires in-office presence. APICS certification, prior automotive experience, and Six Sigma training would strengthen your candidacy, but the core expectation is someone who can build an "A-player" team, drive accountability, and translate lean principles into measurable improvements in cost, delivery, and quality.
