About this role
Kelso Building Services operates a remote after-hours dispatch center supporting commercial building automation across the country, and they're building out their night and weekend team. In this role, you'd be the hub connecting customers, field technicians, and internal staff when building system issues arise outside normal business hours. You'll monitor automation alerts, decide what action each one requires, dispatch the right resources, troubleshoot remotely when possible, and keep detailed records—all while being the calm, organized voice customers reach when something goes wrong at 2 a.m. or on a Sunday.
The position suits people who thrive in fast-paced coordination work and don't mind the unconventional schedule. You don't need prior building automation experience; KBS explicitly welcomes backgrounds in dispatching, HVAC, facilities, help desk support, alarm monitoring, or any customer-facing role that demanded multitasking and sound judgment. What matters is strong communication, comfort with computers and web applications, the ability to prioritize competing demands, and genuine willingness to learn how building systems work.
This is a full-time, stable role with built-in training on their platforms and a clear path into building services operations if you want to grow there. The trade-off is the schedule: you'll work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed. If you're looking to break into a technical field without specialized credentials, or you prefer off-hours work, this offers a genuine entry point with employer support.
