About this role

Aspire Allergy & Sinus is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to support their Corpus Christi and Rockport clinics on an as-needed basis. This role blends clinical and front-office work, requiring you to administer allergy tests and injections, take patient vitals, conduct spirometry testing, and manage EHR documentation. You'll also handle reception duties—checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, obtaining insurance authorizations, and fielding phone calls. The position demands flexibility; you'll be scheduled Monday through Friday with most shifts on Mondays and Thursdays, working 7:50 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when called in.

Success in this role requires solid medical assistant fundamentals: knowledge of medical terminology, proficiency with injections and vital signs, and comfort navigating electronic health records and practice management systems. You need strong communication skills to explain testing protocols to patients and coordinate with clinical staff, plus the composure to handle difficult situations calmly. Physical demands include prolonged standing, lifting up to 20 pounds, and the ability to drive between clinic locations.

Ideal candidates hold a completed Medical Assistant program or certificate and have prior experience as a medical assistant or medical receptionist, though the position is open to those with related clinical or healthcare background. Current CPR certification is preferred. Aspire offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off with 10 paid holidays, a 401(k) with employer match, and free allergy testing for employees.
