About this role
CBIZ is looking for a Sales Development Representative to build a foundation in B2B sales within their Benefits & Insurance division. You'll spend your first months learning the company's service lines and sales processes, then transition into a dedicated B&I role with the goal of eventually becoming a sales producer. The work is straightforward: making high-volume outbound calls and sending targeted emails to prospects sourced through marketing, qualifying their interest, and booking initial meetings for the sales consultants who close deals. You'll use Salesforce, SalesLoft, and other tools to manage your pipeline and track activity.
This role suits someone with at least a year of sales or customer service experience who thrives on the phone, handles rejection well, and genuinely wants coaching to improve. You need strong communication skills, solid organizational habits, and the ability to research prospects and navigate objections. A bachelor's degree in insurance, sales, or business is preferred but not required if you have the sales background and drive to compete.
The 18-month program is structured as a deliberate pathway: you'll train intensively in months one through nine while doing active prospecting, then shift toward service line specialization and licensing in months ten through eighteen. This is a full-time, in-office position in Kansas City, designed for someone ready to learn the advisory services space and build toward a producer role at a large, established firm.
